Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If you don’t see your question here, our team is always happy to help.

Do I need a permit to place a shed or portable building on my property?

Permit requirements vary by city and county. Some areas require permits for sheds or portable buildings, while others do not, depending on size, placement, and intended use.

We recommend checking with your local municipality before scheduling delivery. Below are links to permit information for commonly served areas:

If you’re unsure which rules apply to your property, feel free to contact us and we’ll help point you in the right direction.

Delivery timelines depend on whether the building is in stock or custom-built.

  • In-stock buildings: typically delivered within 5–7 days

  • Custom-built buildings: typically delivered within 3–4 weeks

Our team will confirm estimated delivery timing when you place your order.

Each HOA has its own rules regarding sheds and portable buildings. While we can customize buildings to help meet HOA requirements, you’ll need to confirm what’s allowed in your specific neighborhood.

Common HOA considerations include:

  • Approved colors or finishes

  • Maximum length, width, or height

  • Door and building style requirements

  • Placement rules (front yard vs. backyard)

  • Fence or screening requirements

Some HOAs are flexible, while others are more restrictive. We recommend checking HOA guidelines early in the process to avoid delays.

To safely deliver and position your building, we typically need at least one foot of clearance on each side of the structure.

For example:

  • A 12-foot-wide gate generally allows for a 10-foot-wide building

In some cases, exceptions may be possible depending on site conditions. If you’re unsure about access or placement, contact us ahead of time so we can review your setup and discuss options.
